Le Butcherettes - (Set time: 1:00 AM)
Le Butcherettes
The garage-punk Le Butcherettes are like the brilliant offspring of surrealist Luis Buñuel and intrepid rock icon PJ Harvey. Led by 25-year-old vocalist/guitarist/pianist Teri Gender Bender (a recent transplant to El Paso, TX from Guadalajara, Mexico), Le Butcherettes' songs and wildly cathartic live shows have often drawn comparisons to Karen O, Patti Smith, Bikini Kill, and many other female-fronted rock groups, but there's a theatricality to Le Butcherettes that brings a further reaching sense of mystery and imagery to the band.

This electric live show has led to extensive tours with legendary artists such as The Flaming Lips, The Mars Volta, Iggy Pop & the Stooges, Faith No More, The Melvins, Jane's Addiction, The Deftones, Queens of the Stone Age, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Dead Weather and The Melvins, along with appearances at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Corona Capital Festival, Fun Fun Fun Fest, and Sonar Festival.

Despite the relentless tour schedule, Le Butcherettes have released a steady stream of critically acclaimed music. Their debut EP, Kiss & Kill, in 2009 was nominated for "Best New Artist" and "Best Punk Record" awards at Mexico's Indie-O Awards, while their second full-length Cry Is For the Flies (2014, Ipecac Recordings) won the award for "Best Punk/Garage" in 2015. Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (At The Drive In, The Mars Volta, Bosnian Rainbows) has produced all three Le Butcherettes full-length albums to date. You can hear guest appearances from Iggy Pop ("LA UVA"), Garbage's Shirley Manson ("Shame, You're All I've Got Left"), and Henry Rollins ("Moment of Guilt") across the band's discography.

Le Butcherettes released their third full-length album, A Raw Youth, on Ipecac Recordings in the fall of 2015. They are currently on tour with At The Drive In and will continue to tour on this album through 2016 with new music in the works.
Same Sex Mary - (Set time: 11:30 PM)
Same Sex Mary
Like many large creatures, Same Sex Mary started as a small thing, and it only ate a boyfriend, a girlfriend and a handful of songs. It was cute. People liked it. But an electric guitar and an old Farfisa organ wasn't enough to tame the beast. It got hungry. It needed more. So while roaming the streets of downtown Las Vegas one night, Same Sex Mary found a barefoot guitarist with dancing fingers, and it gobbled him up (barefooted people can't run very fast). But the guitarist's hairy toes tickled on the way down and made Same Sex Mary thirsty. Luckily, it soon found a guy who had a tattoo proclaiming his love of beer, and it swallowed him whole, hoping he would be full of beer. Unfortunately he didn't have much beer in his belly and his afro was drier than that guitarist's hairy toes, but he tasted good. Same Sex Mary had heard somewhere that a good drummer goes best with a good bassist, so, this other night, as a popular bassist was arriving to a bar on his motorcycle, Same Sex Mary pounced again. The bassist never saw it coming, partially because there was no low-end rumble to alert him, and partially because his hair was in his eyes. But after eating that bassist Same Sex Mary had grown too big and loud to go sneaking up on anyone. When it was coming down the street everyone knew about it, even the newspapers. So instead of musicians, it started cornering and swallowing whole rooms of people. Some called it rock and roll … until they were in Same Sex Mary's belly (then they just called it dark). One day, it was looking for a comic book store and accidentally walked into a recording studio, where it crossed paths with the feared Same Sex Mary-eating tape machine. The fight lasted about a week, but when the dust and guitar strings settled, Same Sex Mary found itself consumed by the tape machine, who was pregnant at the time with a baby reel of magnetic recording tape. Well, months passed, and the tape machine gave birth to a big fat vinyl record. If Same Sex Mary were a folk rock band from Nevada and not a mythical creature, it would probably tell you the record was named "Sex Cells" and their friend who wrote their bio was on drugs. However, that's not the case, because Same Sex Mary isn't even real. Sorry, kids.
Residual Kid - (Set time: 10:15 PM)
Residual Kid
RESIDUAL KID is a 3-piece rock band from Austin, Texas. They have been called a grunge band, a punk band and "the badass teen band that just might change rock music" (Huffington Post). Very simply: they are teenagers and they do play rock music - Deven Ivy (17) is the singer/guitarist and brothers Ben (17) and Max Redman (15) play drums and bass respectively. Despite their youth the band is a sophisticated blend of rock equally influenced by early 90's grunge and today's more interesting underground music.
After meeting and coming together at the behest of an instructor at a youth rock camp, Residual Kid began performing around Austin. Soon after arriving on the scene it was clear that Residual Kid wasn't just a good kid band, they were just a good band - no qualifier needed. The band eventually released an EP to local acclaim and began performing at festivals like Fun Fun Fun Fest, Austin City Limits and SXSW (as well emerging artist festivals such as New York's CMJ and Denver's Underground Music Showcase) and gaining industry attention along the way. In 2014 the band did sessions with Dinosaur Jr's J Mascis, Steve McDonald (OFF! / Redd Kross) and with Andrew Kelman (Cat Power, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion) at the Beastie Boys Oscilloscope Studios in New York.
In 2015 the band was signed to Warner Bros. Records imprint SIRE Records by SIRE founder Seymour Stein (who famously discovered the Ramones, Madonna, Talking Heads). Later that same year the band traveled to Europe for the first time performing at in clubs in London and at the Pukklepop Festival in Belgium, Oya Festival in Norway and Way Out West Festival in Sweden. When the band returned home they recorded their SIRE debut (SALSA) with Grammy nominated Chris "Frenchie" Smith (JET, ...Trail of Dead, Meat Puppets) at Bubble Studios in Austin.

The Big Friendly Corporation (outside stage) - (Set time: 12:15 AM)
The Big Friendly Corporation (outside stage)
The Big Friendly Corporation isn't so much a band as it is a group of close friends who love to record audio. Everything from podcasts, to old timey radio programs, to commercials for fictional businesses, and yes, music. They don't take themselves very seriously, because, seriously…what's the point? They've released several albums together and a plethora of solo material. Also, they air a weekly podcast appropriately called Big Friendly Radio every Sunday at noon.
Prism Tats (outside stage) - (Set time: 11:00 PM)
Prism Tats (outside stage)
Prism Tats is a Los Angeles-based rock 'n roll band that is the creation of the deceptively sophisticated South African musician, Garett van der Spek. Although it began as a one-man band with a drum machine keeping the beat for van der Spek's quite modestly self-described "yelping and noodling", it is quickly gaining momentum: after enlisting a live drummer & bass player, the band has begun to turn Angelenos' heads & will be touring nationally throughout 2016.

Following the self-release of a home-recorded EP titled Excess, van der Spek finished a full-length album, which was recently mixed by Chris Woodhouse (Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, Wild Flag, !!!). The self-titled debut album is out now on Anti- Records.
Sego (outside stage) - (Set time: 9:45 PM)
Sego (outside stage)
Led by artists whose life journey has taken them from rural simplicity to urban complexity, Sego's musical approach reflects the duality of the band members' personalities:  small-town boys living in the big city, equally drawn to both the cutting edge and the timeless, refusing to surrender flesh-and-blood humanity in an increasingly digitized and technologically driven world.  Sego's appeal lies not just in its intoxicating melodies & pulsating rhythms, but also in the bubbling tension — captured in both sound and theme — resulting from the band's search for synthesis and balance among competing and contradictory inspirations and urges.

Also, it's fun. Come see what the fuss is about.
Richard Grewar (outside stage) - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
Richard Grewar (outside stage)
Born in England, raised in Australia, and now living in the Black Hills of South Dakota, USA.

Richard Grewar's blend of rock, pop and acoustic elements ignite the creation of a soundscape bursting with color, rhythm and mood-altering intensity.

Live, Grewar serves up a melting pot of looped acoustic overlays; delivered in real-time. Nothing is pre-recorded.

Since relocating to the USA in 2013, Richard had the honor of being the first everperformer at the Life Is Beautiful Festival featuring headliners The Killers, Kings Of Leon and Imagine Dragons, as well as showcasing alongside White Sea (Morgan Kibby of M83) at the South By Southwest spin-off, SXSWV2V in July 2014.

Life has a way of pulling you back towards your passion, and after nearly three years away from music, and almost six years since the release of his debut album, Richard's new album will be available March 2017.
