Home Cookin'
Home Cookin'
Formed in Las Vegas in 1988, Home Cookin' quickly became a local favorite in the scene, combining a delectable array of original soul, rock, and funk. Armed with a mass of talented players, including a full horn section, they are a rare breed of band to come by - a 100% live band with all original material that creates a party atmosphere!

With their debut album "Mmm, Mmm, Mmm," in1997 and their follow-up release of "Pink in the Middle," in 2000, Home Cookin' has been voted "Best Local Band" and "Best Local CD" several times in their home town of Las Vegas. Their hits "X-rated superstar" and "Soul Space Express" circulated radio, produced a music video, was featured in the movies "The Gristle" and "American Vampire", and the video game "Road Rash Jailbreak."

Having been compared to the likes of Tower of Power, they were one of the first acts to transcend the club scene and perform at top casino showrooms on the strength of their ORIGINAL material, and their ability to pack venues. Playing everywhere from the LA, San Diego, and Phoenix areas, having played with such acts as Ohio Players, Dread Zeppelin, and the Blues Brothers, to big festivals such as the Vans Warped Tour, Extreme Radio Big Concert #2 and the Hard Rock Ska-nakah Fest, their music remains a legacy to the Las Vegas scene! After a 10 year hiatus, they reunited in 2011 and are bringing the groove once more!

The band performs original and cover songs that always leaves a crowd shouting “encore” and provides some sweet medicine to the soul of their listeners. From their humble beginnings in the spring of 2016, The Soul Joos Band has been steadily increasing their musical footprint in Las Vegas and the West. What started as a union between three friends who wanted to play great music, has now become one of the funkiest 11 piece bands in the country. 5 dynamic horns, a blazing B3 organ, blistering blues/rock guitar and a scrumptious blend of vocal work creates the soul gravy that gives this band its unique funky/roots edge. The band has played at numerous venues including Fremont Street, Container Park, Bunkhouse Saloon, Life is Beautiful Festival Battle of the Bands, and The Composer's Showcase at the prestigious Smith Center. The band also recently had a 6 month residency at The Hard Rock Café on the Vegas strip and closed out the prestigious "Pigs for Kids" festival in Las Vegas raising money for children's cancer treatment. The Soul Joos Band has now begun recording their first album which should be released in the spring of 2018. The band has recently been added to the roster of 3rd Eye Booking in a non-exclusive contract, and is going to release their first single in December along with their first music video. The band's concerts, lyrics and songs are inspirational and fun to help the listener transport themselves to another place to obtain the strength to face the many difficulties of life while enjoying the moments they have with people they love. The band will be traveling much more in 2018 while playing new venues in California, Arizona, Colorado and other venues in the West Region. They hope to tour in the Midwest during the summer of 2018 and possibly play in Japan, France and Italy towards the fall of 2018. BIOS FOR DAVE TATLOCK AND CHONDELL LeLAND Dave Tatlock, the leader of the band, has been a vocalist for 25 years and started singing in junior high school with his choir. Dave went to Purdue University and fronted a couple of blues and rock bands during his college years and also started singing and being a soloist and vocalist for the gospel choir Black Voices of Inspiration at Purdue University under the accomplished Stanley Butts, III. This is where David was introduced to gospel music, which has been a huge influence in his vocal style and delivery. David then went on to finish school at
Page 2 of 2Indianapolis and sing with the prestigious Rodnie Bryant and The Christian Community Mass Choir traveling the United States while still finishing his college studies. He was involved recording 2 different albums with this group and He also contributed vocals and harmonica on three albums during college. Since that time David has moved to Las Vegas where he has fronted two different bands and also played B3 organ for two different churches in this great city. David is a singer/songwriter that is heavily influenced by blues, funk and especially gospel and the B3 organ. This is why the B3 organ is so prominently featured in The Soul Joos Band and gives the sound you normally would find in an energy-filled Chicago gospel concert. Dave has recently sang with Monday's Dark as a guest vocalist along with Clint Holmes and Earl Turner to raise money for charities in Las Vegas and performed multiple times for the Kenny Davidsen Show at the Tuscany Resort and Casino.
